Uygur Yılmaz (Mersin, 1975) is a self-taught photography artist, living and working in Istanbul. Most of his work focuses on the tension between abstract and reality, banal and poetic, applying a detached and reductive photographic language. Recent solo exhibitions: Here But Where, NON, Istanbul, 2010; Missing Parts, Galerist, Istanbul, 2009; We Are Cold, Apartment Project, Istanbul, 2006. He also published two poetry books of short and experimental pieces.
